Zagreb

Zagreb is the capital and by population the largest city of Croatia. Grew out of two medieval settlements on the neighboring hills, Gradec and civil Episcopal Cathedral Chapter. Located on the southwestern edge of the Panning plain to the average altitude of 122 m, beneath the southern slopes Medvednica, on the left and right banks of the Sava River. Location of the town, which is the point where the Alpine, Dinaric, Adriatic and the Pannonian region, allowed the Zagreb to become a bridge between central Europe and the Adriatic area.
